Our security consultancy group is growing in response to fantastic new projects that need a variety of systems, control and security engineering. We are looking for bright and engaging graduate engineers with good communication skills, an inquisitive mind and an ability to work alone and as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will have a good engineering/science degree and a passion for engineering and systems. We expect you to also have a pragmatic attitude towards technology, robust analytical skills and be a natural team player when solving problems. In addition, we offer a range of remuneration packages that we can tailor to suit individual needs. You will be working out of our Bath office where our security consultancy group is based. We support the practice both nationally and internationally, so in the longer term, you may have the opportunity to work in any of our offices in the UK or abroad. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following experience and abilities: • Degree in Engineering or Science • At least one years relevant experience in a similar systems role • Graduate Member of a relevant Institution • Good IT skills • Experience of construction processes and site environments would be desirable. • Good communication skills, dealing with other employees and external clients • Confident, proactive character, ability to take the lead in challenging situations • Have a flexible approach and be a team player • Have a project focused approach to working with an ability to work on multiple projects, see them through to completion and balancing workload requirements. • Ability to co-ordinate with the other discipline Engineers within the practice to produce design solutions for clients.
The key areas of responsibility for these roles are: • Undertaking detailed security system design and reviews of the designs of others • Preparing technical schedules • Planning, preparing and managing CAD documentation of design work • Working closely with CAD Technician (as appropriate) • In conjunction with senior staff represent BH at meetings with the client, other professionals and suppliers. • Ensuring service and project work are carried out within agreed deadlines and within budget. • Ensuring that appropriate service/design decisions are met. • Ensuring senior staff are kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the company and the client are achieved. • Coordinating his/her work with other members of the project team. • Ensuring all relevant BH staff are informed of client matters. Ensuring that your own personnel development i.e. CPD goals are established and then met. Engaging in wider discipline roles to further and support you own professional development with relevant engineering institutions. • Continually ensuring that practices, policies, strategy and services represent the client’s and Buro Happold’s best interests and that BH policy is in keeping with current legislation, British Standards and Codes of Practice
