My client requires a proven and self driven Signalling and Communications Engineer to provide technical leadership for the signalling & communications systems and assist with the development of the railways system design and procurement strategies.
The successful applicant will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline and be chartered, working towards chartered membership or a relevant professional body or have the relevant experience to become chartered.
You will have direct experience of the management of signalling and communications design on a mainline or metro railway either as a design team leader or within a clienting role. Your experience will include major renewals or new works projects, knowledge of formal system engineering methods in the railway environment and the skill to provide appropriate guidance and advice to a multi-disciplinary team operating to short and changing deadlines.
Principle accountabilites will include: T *The provision of signalling and communications systems advice to the geographically based teams and client guidance to the SRC. *Assisting with the development and implementation of the design and procurement strategy for signalling & communications systems and for the Systems Assurance, Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety philosophy. *Ensuring that the signalling * communication systems designs are based on up to date Standards and Codes of Practice, including the latest European requirements on interoperability. *Developing asset management strategies for signalling & communication systems.
The jobholder will require a good understanding of the client role in technical supervision and guidance of external clients.
