Job Description
Due to the continued success and growing workload of our water business, we are seeking to recruit a number of Senior Water Engineers to our Water & Wastewater Division in Scotland. Successful candidates will be based in one of our existing offices in Aberdeen, Edinburgh or Glasgow. The successful candidate will join an existing team of civil engineering staff, and will play a key role in developing our engineering design capability. Work will include a range of Q&S III related water and wastewater projects together with water and wastewater aspects of major opportunities in other sectors.

Requirements
The ideal candidate for this role will be Civil Engineer with Water and Wastewater industry experience. They will have achieved chartered status. They will need to have experience of leading small design teams and will also have an appreciation of the financial and commercial management of projects. In addition to the above, experience of working with project programming / project management techniques and systems would be an advantage. Due to the nature of this role and the potential for frequent travel to attend client sites, a full driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities
As a Senior Water Engineer, you will be responsible for working collaboratively with project teams technically managing the delivery of a range of water / wastewater projects. The role will also include assisting in the preparation of technical proposals and fee estimates, programme / project management, fee management, expenditure control and the management of design, feasibility studies and approval of reports. Main duties will include but not be limited to:
  • Delivery of projects to time, quality and budget in accordance with relevant standards and codes required.
  • Responding to client directions in a responsive and customer focused manner.
  • Responsible for preparation of briefs, scope of works etc
  • Completion of technical tasks as appropriate to complete works
  • Liaison with clients and other outside organisations (e.g. SEPA, Building Control, Local Authority Planners, Scottish Water, etc)
  • Carrying out all tasks in accordance with Atkins Quality Assurance procedures.
