Project Engineer / Installations Coordinator

Sue Ross Recruitment is working with aclient committed to clean sustainable energy solutions based around water electrolysis.

They are looking for an experienced Project Engineer/Installations Coordinator to join their team based in Sheffield. For this role in the Commissioning team, you will be responsible for the coordination of the delivery, installation, and commissioning of the specialist hydrogen generation, storage and dispensing technology across the UK. You will be liaising with the production, process and engineering teams as well as dealing with specialist contractors and suppliers. You will also be required to support company safety, quality and regulatory approval functions.

Whilst the installation and commissioning phase of the project is underway, deployment projects will include site visits to act as site manager. Typically, you will be expected to be on site for up to 4 weeks at a time, but this is dependent on the nature of the project and longer periods away are a possibility. This could also involve being outside of the UK.

Internal projects will be related to the expansion and optimisation of manufacturing operations which will be crucial to the company over the next few years. The project engineer will need to be able to demonstrate wide experience in optimisation of manufacturing operations, preferably from manufacturing, control, aerospace, automotive or similar industries.

This is a very hands-on role, and the company will offer the necessary training in their specific technology to enable the post-holder to adopt his approach.

Reporting directly to the Head of Commissioning, duties and responsibilities include;

- Coordinating sub-contractors and suppliers
- Installation, commissioning and testing of ITM's products
- Overseeing the integration of control and safety systems
- Interacting with customers
- Ensuring site safety procedures are adhered to

Essential Experience and Qualifications are as follows:

- Degree qualified Engineer (preferably Mechanical, Electrical) with strong core engineering skills
- 3-5 years' experience working as a project engineer
- Familiarity with the installation and commissioning of process plant or industrial equipment
- Working knowledge of technical documents and drawings including P&IDs, electrical diagrams and control logic flow diagrams
- Good organisational and reporting skills
- Practical, analytical and logical problem solving skills
- A team player that is good with people

Advantages

- Knowledge of ATEX Directives and the Explosive atmospheres
- Working knowledge of automated PLC Process Control Systems
- Knowledge of Safety Integrated Systems
