Our client is a rapidly growing next generation, urban wireless Internet and telecommunications service provider, using proven technology to bring affordable high speed symmetrical Business Broadband / Internet connectivity to UK business.
Role Purpose:
Strategic planning during national rollout and assist in pre-sales enquiries to facilitate quick turnaround of bespoke solutions in combination with longer term strategic network planning. Working closely with other departments to identify the optimum architecture of the radio area network along with owning the relationships with transmission vendors to provision additional connectivity requirements.
Main duties:
- Hands on WiMAX Radio Access Network planning
- Identify RAN equipment functional and performance requirements
- Assist in feasibility exercises of alternative RAN architectures
- Liase with transmission vendors to procure services to sites
- Execute RAN testing and evaluation programs
- Liase with Solutions/IP design teams
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of technical features of WiMAX standards and products.
Attributes Required
- Experience of GSM, WCDMA/HSDPA or WiMAX
- Understanding of radio propagation
- Understanding of infrastructure product development and constraints
- Working experience with Rf propagation/planning toolset
Qualifications:
- BSc Engineering/Physics or equivalent experience
Other Requirements:
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Practical, 'hands on' skills
- Ability to work well in a team
- Project management skills
