What is the Role?
We have an opening for a technically strong structures engineer with experience within the rail industry to join an already strong, well-established rail team in York. Ideally you will have the experience and confidence to act as team leader on projects and in return be given the opportunity to play a key role in a small but rapidly growing team.
Requirements are:
· Technically strong candidate
· Experience in design of railway stations, platforms and access ramps
· Self motivated
· Team leader on projects
· Ambition to accelerate career

Who are the likely candidates?
A likely candidate will have many years experience in building structures design. You will need to be able to show practical experience using design tools, and have working knowledge of the British Standards and codes.
You will be working within a team, and therefore you will need to be able to communicate well at a technical level with both more junior employees and senior.
Those candidates who are able to show workable progress towards reaching chartered status will be favoured.
What Skills do I need?
· Chartered (or near chartered) Engineer (not essential) · Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline degree · An all round appreciation of the rail environment and an awareness of the other disciplines involved. · Good detailed design ability and rail experience, including station and platform design.
