Our client's South Yorkshire office seeks to recruit an ambitious Structural Engineer to join their rapidly expanding Structures team.
Working within an established team on a variety of projects including Schools for the future, Residential, Retail, Commercial and Industrial, you will also be involved in a wide range of challenging and demanding small to large projects which are industry and public high profile.
Your specific responsibilities will include:
• Design work on a wide variety of projects using structural steelwork, post tensioned and reinforced concrete
• Delivering engineering solutions and reporting results to managers and clients
• Providing capabilities in dynamic analysis of sub and/or super structure engineering
• Carrying out strengthening work depending on project requirements
• Carrying out structural inspections / assessments and producing reports
• Undertake independent studies and analysis and prepare recommendations and conclusions for formal review by project managers / clients
• Assist with production of drawings, specifications and tender documents, obtaining tenders and quotations, tender adjudication and analysis
• Liaise effectively with other professionals (architects, services engineers etc.)
• Undertake estimating, cost reporting and forecasting for small to medium sized projects, or sections of larger projects
• Build client relationships and help identify business opportunities, but will not have formal client or sales accountability
You will have a B.Sc or B.Eng or equivalent in Structural Engineering and will preferably have Chartership or be close to achieving Chartered Status, although this is not essential.
Preferably with experience of working in or with a multi-disciplinary design consultancy, you will also possess good experience in a range of structural engineering solutions including high rise, offices, commercial and mixed use, and in the use of structural analysis and design software, whilst 3D modelling skills would be an distinct advantage.
A strong technical focus and personal interest in Structural Engineering, utilised in a broad range of UK projects is essential as is the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of staff and external clients / contacts and experience in liaison with other professionals, clients and contractors.
Our client will offer a competitive salary, probably in the range of £27 - 32,000 p.a., together with an array of benefits including contributory pension scheme, extensive training and development support.
