Structural Engineer based in Leeds

A perfect opportunity has arisen for high calibre Experienced Structural Engineers to join one of the top multi-disciplinary civil and structural engineering consultancies. Our client possesses over 30 years experience within building services, infrastructure as well as providing services within the environmental discipline.

The role is for a position in the aviation sector group. As well as gaining experience and developing your skills as a structural engineer, you will also gain specialist knowledge in the aviation sector.


The role

  • The successful candidates will have proven experience in the building structures environment and be near chartered.


  • To provided a technical/design engineering service to the Group on projects, as directed by the Associate/Associate Director.


  • Undertake detailed engineering design and prepare technical schedules


  • Plan and manage CAD documentation of design work


  • Work closely with and monitor performance of Technician (as appropriate)


  • Under guidance of senior staff, represent the company at meetings with the client, other professionals and suppliers.


  • Ensure service and project work are carried out within agreed deadlines and within budget.


  • Ensure that appropriate service/design decisions are met.


  • Ensure senior staff are kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the company and the client are achieved.


  • Coordinating his/her work with other members of the project team and ensuring all relevant company staff are informed of client matters..


  • Continually ensuring that practices, policies, strategy and services represent the client’s and the company’s best interests and that company policy is in keeping with current legislation, British Standards and Codes of Practice etc.


  • Actively work towards Chartered Engineering status.


  • Mentor and assist Graduate Engineers


  • Commitment to CPD and self learning / development.


  • The projects are generally building structures related with varied work across the residential, commercial, industrial and leisure sectors.


  • In addition, the successful candidates will have a Bachelor’s (BEng) or Master’s (MEng) degree in engineering plus some relevant work experience or equivalent.
