What is the Role?

As a Principal Engineer you will be running your own team, ensuring that the project you are responsible for is completed within time and budget.

This company have a flat structure, and due to their current workload throughout the UK, are looking to increase their staff at top level. The Sheffield branch was originally a spin off from the Leeds branch. It has been growing for about 5 years. Structural projects have been successfully won from branches including Leeds, London, Manchester and Poland, and it is company policy to utilise the space that already exists. Therefore, the Sheffield branch is looking to grow, and take on more work.

Current projects therefore range from small new building projects for various supermarkets, to multi million pound shopping centres.

The Sheffield office is therefore very busy, working on project from Europe and the UK. They are looking to create a more structured environment, through issuing a major project to an Engineer who can take full responsibility for both the scheme and the team.

This is a good opportunity for an engineer who is keen to continual working on the project management/managerial side of business. The company are interested in a senior level employee who can start and quickly take complete control of an entire part of their current scheme.

Who are the likely candidates?

A likely candidate will have achieved chartered status and have a number of years previous experience, post-chartership. You will need to have a good ability working with all aspects of a project, including project management, financial management, design co-ordination, client interfacing. As well as having the ability to successfully lead and develop a team.

· British Standards and codes – those with experience working to Euro Codes will be favoured.
