Sales Manager – Capital Equipment Sales - Engineering Degree - knowledge of the metals industry, plate market, plate rolling process and related equipment beneficial – some international travel - based Sheffield – salary on application (please call) – urgent vacancy – interviews to be held w/c 6th October

We are urgently looking for a sales Manager with an Engineering Degree (or equivalent) and several years of experience of working in sales of capital equipment.

The Capital Equipment Sales Manager should have a sound technical background and a good understanding of the design principles of large equipment / machinery.

Good leadership and team-working skills are essential and knowledge of the metals industry, plate market, plate rolling process and related equipment beneficial.

Also required are a high level of commitment, initiative and autonomy and good communication and IT skills including MS Office applications.

Reporting to the General Sales Manager and acting in the capacity of Bid Project Manager for large capital projects, the Capital Equipment Sales Manager will be working in the Plate Mills – Sales division of one of the world’s leading engineering and plant building companies for the international metals industry.

Day to day duties of the Capital Equipment Sales Manager will include:-

• Leading the sales activities for specific projects
• Ensuring the correct implementation of the company’s internal process for deciding on and releasing offers prior to their handing over to customers
• Acting as Bid Project Manager and coordinating the activities of the various functions involved in the bidding process
• Leading the project team at meetings with the Client during the bidding phase
• Interfacing with the Product Lifecycle Manager to shape technical solutions to be proposed
• Updating the projects data base
• Ensuring proper handover of contracts to Project Manager and Commercial Project Manager
• Cultivating clients worldwide including attending meetings, giving presentations, attending exhibitions and conferences.
• Interfacing with marketing for the production of publicity material.

All candidates for the position of Capital Equipment Sales Manager (Bid Management) should have a current Driving Licence and passport and be able to travel both nationally and internationally, possibly at short notice
