Salary / Hourly Rate: £45000 - £50000 per annum + benefits

This is an active hands-on role and duties/responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

 

·    Understand and work to the Health and Safety management System

·    Work in accordance with current Health and Safety practice

·    Give Health and Safety advice to all TSG personnel including managers and the workforce

·    Liaise with power station safety advisors and managerial staff

·    Carry out regular workplace safety inspections and record observations

·    Encourage employee led safety and good behavioural safety at all outage sites

·    Advise and recommend types of PPE to be used in specific situations

·    Give tool-box talks and safety inductions to all TSG site personnel on safety related issues

·    Carry out accident/incident and hazard observation investigations in accordance with TSG procedures

·    Assist in the review of TSG policies and procedures where appropriate

·    Contribute to the continuous improvement ethos within the Health and Safety Department at TSG Ferrybridge

·    Produce Health and Safety Plans

 

Key Competencies:

·    Unsocial hours are a requirement of the position dictated by project targets and time scales and considerable amount of time away from home may be necessary.  There is also a need with this role for some considerable business travel throughout the UK

Knowledge and Skills: 

·    Must have NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent (working towards NEBOSH Diploma would be an advantage)

·    Must be confident to deliver inductions and tool-box talks to groups of people

·    Must be familiar with current Health and Safety legislation applicable to the power generation industry
