Maintenance Team Leader – Wetherby, West Yorkshire – to £33k (Perm Days)
Our client is recognized as one of the worlds leaders in the area of highly advanced automated warehousing and materials handling solutions, and as a result of recent positive internal restructuring, they are now looking to recruit an experienced and highly self motivated and enthusiastic multi discipline, electrically biased maintenance team leader to coordinate and supervise the activities of an existing team. Tasked with ensuring the support and maintenance of customer equipment on a prestigious high profile site, the successful candidate will work on a permanent days basis coordinating the activities of a two shift team and will have the opportunity to work on state of the art equipment in a newly built facility.
To be considered for this challenging and responsible position, the successful candidate will possess a relevant engineering qualification (ONC/HNC or above) and 16th Edition IEE regs, and will have proven supervisory and man management skills as well as the ability to troubleshoot and maintain automated electro-mechanical systems, and whilst the bias of required knowledge is electrical, the role will also involve a high proportion of mechanical work so ideal applicants will need to demonstrate their competence in this area. Ideally you will also have previous experience of supervising a team tasked with maintaining automated equipment and some knowledge of PLC’s would prove to be distinctly advantageous. It should be noted that the environment is “low-oxygen” which means that it is a more demanding environment for carrying out physical activity. It is therefore essential that the engineers on site are physically fit and remain so, and for this reason, medical assessments will be required annually as well as before joining the company.
In addition to carrying out both PPM and reactive breakdown repairs on Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems at customer’s premises, the team will also provide Operational Support and fault detection and corrective action services, and in order to support your team, will therefore possess a thorough understanding of the interfaces within the Automated systems and of the diagnostic and tracking system and Automated Systems Controls (with experience of Siemens Simatic PLC programming language highly advantageous).
