Salary / Hourly Rate: £50,000 p/a + extensive package

Our client is an award winning multi disciplined engineering consultancy with a huge amount of growth currently due to their continued success in the rail sector of the industry. The York office is expanding quickly and currently they are in great need of Bridge Engineers of all levels to come on board and join their expanding business.

Description
Working within a bridge design team within an established Rail business, the role involves but is not limited to the following:

Responsible for managing a small team of up to 5 individuals
Responsibility of delivering up to 10 projects concurrently to time and to budget
Daily management of projects reporting to Project Manager
Design and Design Management from inception to completion
Supervising and managing assistant engineers and technicians
Liaison with other members of project teams both internal and external
Liaise with internal and external sub contractors
Involvement with cost management, tenders, invoicing of projects
Client presentations
Circa 75% of time will be spent on Design and will include planning and undertaking survey works on site.

Skills:
Excellent communication skills
Sound IT skills

The successful applicant should be able to:
Work without supervision,
Lead a team of engineers.
To produce neat clear calculations in a structured format.
Translate designs into engineering drawings, schedules and current specifications
Working knowledge of Railway Standards
The applicant must be capable of taking a hands-on approach to design and technical coaching of junior staff.

Qualifications:
Degree Qualified
Professionally qualified Chartered Civil Engineer/completion of training scheme
Must have extensive engineering experience, Ideally within a rail environment
Ideally personnel management and project management experience
Previous consultancy experience
Good design experience.
Steel, concrete and composite design essential. Solid foundations design experience preferred.
