We are looking for a commercially aware and deadline / target orientated
Lead Piping Engineer with extensive knowledge of piping and the various standards applicable to a worldwide customer base
The Lead Piping Engineer should have experience of the design of various piping systems, preferably associated with the steel industry and experience of supervising the installation and commissioning of piping systems as well as a good understanding of the Pressure Equipment Regulations and how these relate to piping systems associated with the steel industry
Candidates for the position of Lead Piping Engineer will need a working knowledge of AutoCAD and Solid Edge and be able to use Microsoft Office, Project, Outlook, etc
Working in the Plate Mills Business Unit of one of the world’s leading engineering and plant building companies for the international metals industry, the role of Lead Piping Engineer will entail providing and managing the company’s piping engineering design service, both machine mounted and interconnecting.
Reporting to the Fluids Engineering Manager day to day duties will include:-
• Providing technical input to bid specifications
• Setting up and maintaining a database for estimating piping costs
• Coordinating all piping related engineering aspects of a project
• Taking responsibility for the production of piping systems designs
• Participating in design and safety review meetings.
• Participating in customer meetings
• Providing technical support during the installation and commissioning phases of a project.
All candidates for the position of Lead Piping Engineer (Steel Industry) will need a current Driving Licence and passport and must be able to travel both nationally and internationally, possibly at short notice
