The Environmental Manager is the Trust Lead on all aspects of Waste Energy and Environmental Management. Responsible for ensuring that they are compliant with all legislation relating to Waste and Environmental Management and for developing and maintaining the Trust's Energy and Environmental policies.
The Environmental Manager is responsible for identifying all the Trust's current and emerging Environmental aspects and subsequently assessing the impacts. This also includes management of the Environmental Control Assurance Waste Management and Transport Standards. Operating Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) in support of Environmental and Waste Management programs to support a culture where all staff sees Environmental issues are business as usual. In addition the Environmental Manager will ensure the achievement of and ongoing operational compliance with ISO 14001 and review, audit and improve suppliers ISO 14001 requirements.
To work closely with the Estates and Project Managers to ensure that all new works, developments and moves on site are properly coordinated in relation to any waste and environmental issues and that appropriate communication amongst the stakeholders takes place.
Qualifications " HND level in a relevant science, environmental qualification or HND in M&E Engineering
Experience " Experience of Environmental Management " Computer literate with knowledge of energy management programmes " Experience of electrical systems, asbestos, CDM " Knowledge of building and engineering services, utilities, waste management, environmental management, maintenance and installation. " Experience of customer care management " Experience of managing budgets Desirable " Formal engineering training " NHS management experience " Membership of a relevant professional institute " Knowledge of preparing tenders for engineering/environment " Experience of ISO 14001
