My client's Bridges Team require a Bridge CAD Technician to work on large, challenging projects within the highways sector. The role of Bridge Technician is a key position within their expanding team in Birmingham and will require innovative thinking and a proactive approach to your work.
Joining them at this highly exciting time will enable you to become involved in some very prestigious projects for which you will take responsibility for the provision of technical drawings. Current clients include Local Authorities, Developers, Contractors and National Frameworks within the Highways Agency and English Partnerships and therefore the array of projects is diverse.
Current key projects include:
- Major project in Dubai consisting of 6 bridges within 1 interchange alone - Improvement works to all structures within an 80 Km stretch of a major UK motorway. - Major development in Iraq - Full responsibility for motorway works which include 4 large scale structures as well as smaller junction improvements.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be to provide CAD support to the bridges team, working on both rail and highway bridges. Knowledge of Highways Agency and Network Rail procedures and standards would be an advantage to this role but is not essential.
Your sound CAD Skills will enable you to mentor others, offering guidance and support to other technicians. RC detailing experience would be an advantage to the client as would the ability to utilise the CADS RC software programme. Good communication skills will be required to liaise at all levels within the design team.
