My client is a group of companies turning over approximately £7m per annum with 25 years experience in the construction industry. Working mainly for local authorities and housing associations, they are organised into 5 main disciplines: Painting & Decorating Plastering Insulations Flooring Property Services (employing all of the services of the above group companies with further disciplines such as carpentry, electrics, plumbing , bricklaying and roofing.
Working for our Property Services, Plastering, Insulations and Flooring Divisions the position involves:
Pricing tenders to deadline Measuring works Sourcing materials at best price. Sourcing Sub – contract organisations at best price Negotiating with main contractors and other customers Completing final accounts Accountability for project profitability Monitoring and reviewing performance of contracts mangers Liaising with other divisions on joint tenders Meeting with other divisions on a regular basis to discuss and carry out group marketing strategy Reporting to the Board of Directors on a monthly basis. Assisting the Directors in further expansion of the group
My clients office based team includes 5 operations personnel (inc 2 directors), 5 surveying personnel (inc 1 director), 6 accountancy and support personnel and 3 further directors.
We employ approximately 100 site personnel (around 20 of which are employed by the property services division) including supervisors and trainees and regularly use up to 60 sub contractors.
My client is more concerned with the candidates’ ability to carry out the above areas of responsibility than we are with qualifications, although ownership of a CSCS card would be beneficial.
