Senior Project Manager opportunities have become available within the team tasked with developing key major capital public transport schemes across the West Midlands. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for project managing the development of a number of schemes and providing technical and professional expertise in scheme development and project management.
Role Purpose:
To project manage the delivery of a complex range of the companies initiatives such as Bus & Highways schemes, Heavy and Light Rail & Rapid Transit schemes and corporate projects
Accountabilities (Deliverables):
• Develop, plan and deliver a complex range of the clients technical projects to time, budget, quality and safety standards, within prescribed project and gateway processes. • Manage the outputs of project staff engaged on projects. • To ensure that all documentation for corporate initiatives are maintained to the correct levels at all times. • Provide technical expertise during the assessment of schemes at strategic alignment stage.
Responsibilities (Duties):
• Undertake the project management of a number of technical schemes contained within a programme, with the responsibility for ensuring compliance with the appropriate Gateway Process • Support the Principal Project Managers in providing direction and advice to project managers, technical and administrative staff, suppliers and partners engaged on the delivery of projects. • Manage and coordinate activities from scheme inception to completion on projects for which directly responsible. • Manage and coordinate all contractual, technical, financial and legal inputs on projects for which directly responsible. • Provide technical expertise during the assessment of schemes at strategic alignment stage. • Develop effective collaborative working at a senior level with public and private sector partners, internal and external stakeholders. • Maintain domain knowledge on Special projects including review of outcomes and feedback of lessons learnt. • Prepare and submit appropriate documentation to the Project Control Panel which ensures the progression of schemes through the Gateway process. • Coordinate the provision of all relevant budget and programme information to the Programme Planning and Support Office. • Prepare reports/briefing notes for senior management, elected members, PTA committees, Executive and Operating Boards, as appropriate to project status. • Prepare and maintain relevant project, quality and risk plans, and monitor and control performance against each plan, providing reports to the Project Sponsor and Project |
