Our client in Shropshire is seeking a talented Traffic Technician to become involved in a multitude of projects for local key clients and / or to assist other offices.
Your specific duties will be to assist Senior Technicians and Senior Engineers in the design of traffic engineering schemes and assist in the supervision and development of Trainee Technicians.
You should be qualified to at least ONC / HNC level or equivalent in Civil Engineering and will have achieved or be actively working towards a Professional Qualification.
With some good post-qualification experience, you will have relevant experience of working in Traffic Engineering with a knowledge of Traffic calming design, Local Safety Schemes, Safer Routes to work and school, pedestrian and cycle schemes, traffic regulation orders, AutoCAD and associated packages, sign design, road marking design and site supervision of minor works.
A sound knowledge and experience of working for Local Government clients, or of working in Local Government is essential.
You will be a practical team worker with a motivated and enthusiastic approach to work, will have good communication skills and will have a proactive attitude towards your personal professional development.
Our client will offer a competitive salary, probably in the range of £20 - 25,000 p.a., together with a flexible benefits package.
