Lean Engineer - Based in Rugby

They operate in four main markets: Marine, Oil & Gas, Energy and Industry as well as in many specialized areas.
Your Responsibilities
Site Lean Leader must support the Site/Manufacturing manager on different projects related to improvement process Facilitate cross-functional expert teams to drive breakthrough or Best-in-Class performance in People, Quality, Material Flow, and Cost To teach and share with people Lean principles, to organize training session, providing continuous improvement philosophy across the organization Collaborate with Site Manager & Lean Process Manager to assess the Current state of the plant’s Operations; Develop Future State vision and implementation plan (i.e. by using. Value Stream Analysis) Coach team members in understanding Lean principles Prepare detailed plans, drive project performance, and assure timely completion and achievement of product / process quality and savings goals Collaborate with leadership to develop a plant Lean Roadmap, bridging business metrics gaps with either: Just Do It improvements, Lean Implementation projects (i.e. Hoshin). Through the actions that you are leading, be responsible for supporting the manufacturing organisation to reach the goals in terms of Q, C, D. (Quality, costs and delays) Identify barriers to project success and solicit help from champions when needed Accountable to impact on Operational Cost
Candidate Requirements:
Demonstrated high level performance in current and previous positions. Shown initiative, the desire to drive change and is motivated to exceed expectations Solid leadership skills with ability to manage both vertically and horizontally and ability to provide leadership in sharing best practice and dissemination of world-class processes. Provides training and coaches about value stream principles and about specific Lean & kaizen techniques Ability to make decisions Possesses basic statistical knowledge and the ability to apply statistics to product and process improvement projects. Solid background in manufacturing principles, including Process, Information flow, and Material flow. Good IT computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint as a minimum) 2-3 years as a minimum in Lean Implementation (Desirable: Certified Green Belt) Ideally, HNC Production/Manufacturing as a minimum (Desirable: Mechanical Engineering Degree) Ability to communicate effectively in verbal, written, and presentation skills Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise influence without authority. Should understand financial performances, and to link them with improvement actions on the shop floor. Should act in order to sustain consistent business metrics related with customer satisfaction.
