Industrial Director needed for Small Steam Turbine department based in Rugby

Purpose of the Job
The role objective is to align our manufacturing capabilities, capacity and supply chain with the specific needs of Steam Turbines in the Industrial Sector.
Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the small steam turbines General manager, the candidate will be expected to
Establish the manufacturing technologies and process needs for the world class production of Small Steam Turbines Develop the supply chain required to enable the world class production of Small Steam Turbines Understand the current and evolving capabilities and capacities of the group manufacturing network on a global basis. Conduct competitor analysis and benchmarking Develop and implement plans that match our client’s factory networks manufacturing technologies, capacities and processes to the business requirements of the small steam turbines. Where these plans involve additional or complimentary capabilities and capacities, to lead and drive the integration with the Client network. Lead any necessary Technology Transfers from within or from outside the organization. Develop and lead the evolution of the supply chain both internally and outside the business. Establish strong and effective links into the small steam turbines R&D and Engineering communities in order to optimize products around a design for manufacture philosophy. Forge strong and effective links into the wider factory and supply chain organizations of Turbomachines group. Maintain the efficiency and cost effectiveness of the manufacturing and supply chain organizations to meet the needs of the business through continual improvement. Maximize the benefits of product standardization and economies of scale to drive cost, quality and schedule effectiveness.
Educational Requirements Preferably a degree in Production Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a strong production or industrial focus.
Required Skills and Experience : Significant operational factory management experience, in a turbomachinery environment and preferably at an industrial product scale Highly knowledgeable in manufacturing techniques and their successful introduction into a traditional manufacturing environment Proven experience in applying lean and other similar efficiency driving manufacturing principles Experience of establishing, maturing and continually improving the controls and metrics needed to monitor, manage and drive increasingly higher manufacturing and supply chain performance.
