Salary / Hourly Rate: £18,000 to £26,000

Main Purpose of the Job:

To provide clients with tender offers while limiting the company's risk (design/commercial/operational) under the guidance of the Senior Geotechnical Engineer or Area Manager. The engineer will also be required to liaise with clients during negotiations and after contract award.

Key Tasks/Responsibilities:

- Dealing with ground improvement enquiries allocated by the Senior Geotechnical Engineer/Area Manager and creating tender packages for clients.
- Dealing with customer’s / client’s queries relating to tender documents
- Evaluation of site investigations to ensure we provide the best solution
- Limiting the company's risk with regards to issues relating to design, operational and commercial matters.
- General Estimating / Administration / Office Duties
- Dealing with incoming calls & queries

Skills Required: Essential:

- Excellent communicator in writing, by telephone & face to face
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office and databases
- Excellent administrator & coordinator
- Driven towards providing a quality service
- Approachable to all people whatever their level of responsibility
- Good Team Player
- Desire to learn

Education and/or experience: Essential

- GSCE or equivalent in Maths and English
- Working with a policy & procedure framework.
- Full UK driving licence
- Degree in Environmental Geoscience, Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering

Education and/or experience: Desirable:

- Previous experience in ground related construction activities
- MSc or MEng in related subject

Working Arrangements (Need for travel etc.):

- Regular visits to clients’ offices and construction sites.
- Occasional travel elsewhere within the U.K. or E.U.

Normal Working Hours:

- 40 hours per week (Monday- Friday 09:00 - 17:30)
