A position as a geotechnical engineer or engineering geologist is available at my clients modern office in the Staffordshire area, to assist the team with its expanding workload.
About the Role
Your main duties will include:
*Preparation of desk studies
*Planning, supervision and interpretation of ground investigations
*Geotechnical design
*Construction supervision
You will be given as much responsibility as possible and will be expected to provide guidance and support to less experienced staff.
They are currently working for major clients including the Highways Agency, Transport for London and network Rail.
About You
My client is seeking someone who is bright, articulate, sociable and keen to learn. You must be able to demonstrate progress towards chartered status or be newly qualified.
It is essential that you can demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and experience:
*BSc or BEng/MEng in Geology, Civil Engineering or a Geotechnical subject
*Experience of planning, supervising and interpreting ground investigations
*Knowledge of, and experience of applying soil mechanics theory
*Knowledge of geotechnical British and Highways Agency Standards
*Good report writing skills
*Medical fitness to undertake work on site
*Possession of a full driving license
In addition it would be desirable for you to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and experience:
*MSc in Engineering Geology, Foundation/Geotechnical Engineering or Soil Mechanics
*Experience of geotechnical design
*Experience of infrastructure earthworks inspection, assessment and design.
*Knowledge and experience of the investigation and assessment of contaminated land
*Network Rail PTS qualified or LUL Track Accustomed
