My clients Geotechnical specialists provide a service to other sections of the firm as well as undertaking direct geotechnical commissions for many outside bodies such as government departments, local authorities, financial institutions, other consulting engineers, contracting and commercial organisations and private individuals. Projects range from a foundation assessment for a single building to the geotechnical aspects of major projects such as new towns, highways, prestigious structures, airports and bridges.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for geotechnical professionals to join our growing practice areas. The job will require the successful candidate to provide high calibre geotechnical design to both external and internal clients in the Rail, Roads, Natural Resources, Property, and Development sectors.
We are recruiting for a geotechnical engineer. The role involves being fully competent in your own discipline, being able to work independently with minimal supervision.
The role involves specific project responsibilities, including monitoring the accuracy of project plans, escalating problems, identifying risks and managing requirement changes.
Experienced candidates will be required to contribute in some of our more complex and critical client situations, and may also act as a Team Leader. The role involves identifying opportunities to leverage our expertise in the marketplace and deliver presentations as a technical expert to peer groups, senior management, clients and suppliers.
About You
We primarily look for candidates with a degree in Geotechnical/Civil Engineering, chartered status for experienced candidates and candidates who are working towards this. You will be a Team player, have strong report writing skills, excellent communication skills and have a desire to develop and build opportunities within the business. Knowledge of relevant computer packages is essential also.
