Salary / Hourly Rate: £23000 - £30000 per annum + pension, private health

A leading and expanding consultancy is seeking a
geo-environmental consultant based in Birmingham.

The ideal candidate will have a good amount of experience in the Brownfield regeneration sector and possess a strong geo-environmental technical background with a geo-environmental consultancy or contractor.

He/she will have good experience in undertaking Phase I Desk Studies, the design and supervision of Phase II Intrusive Investigations and the remediation associated with Brownfield sites. The ideal candidate will have been exposed to both geotechnical and contamination issues and should therefore possess the ability to undertake interpretative reports for both geotechnical and contamination assessments.

Excellent communication skills along with a broad base of technical knowledge and understanding with regards to the Brownfield sector are essential.

A good relevant first degree is essential and a post graduate qualification specific to the geotechnical or environmental sector would be an advantage.

The candidates we are seeking should possess the following attributes:

• Confident, knowledgeable individuals who preferably have a background in engineering, chemistry or geology/hydrogeology;
• Problem solvers who are capable of ‘thinking on the spot'; and
• Reliable individuals who are aware that succeeding in consulting involves commitment and hard work!

You will be educated to at least degree level and have a good general knowledge of UK environmental legislation. You will be a good team worker and will be given the opportunity to learn, grow and diversify within the business.
