Exciting opportunity for you to join this world leader in the development of engine and vehicle technology. An extensive client base and high levels of growth mean that a vacancy now exists for a Buyer in Leamington Spa.
As part of a small team of procurement Engineers and Buyers, your key responsibilities will include:
• Providing a competent procurement service for in-house projects and customers
• Ensuring cost estimates to support business development, project planning and forecasting activities are accurate timely and appropriate
• Enabling early supplier involvement, facilitating design & manufacturing team discussions.
• Supporting development of BOMs and their use with project schedules as a planning & expediting tool to monitor progress of the procurement activity.
• Provision of status reports on all purchase activities and purchase associated project activities.
• Sourcing components from quality approved suppliers, balancing the cost/quality/delivery equation in every instance and ensuring value for money.
• Identification of capable suppliers to meet the specific requirements for cost, quality and delivery.
• Expediting all parts through to the stores.
The successful candidate will have purchasing experience in an engineering environment, a good knowledge of manufacturing processes and preferably be CIPS qualified. He / she will have the ability to co-ordinate multiple tasks and have excellent communication and inter-personal skills. Computer purchase system experience and spreadsheet / MS Office skills, along with commercial/contractual/legal/ negotiation skills are essential.
