Design Draughtperson - Rotating Machines needed within the Power Conversion Industry

Our Client is a worldwide specialist in Power Conversion. They provide customized solutions to convert electrical energy through optimum application of technology in drives, controls, motors and generators.

Their customers operate in three main markets: Marine, Energy and Industry as well as in many specialized areas.

They cover every aspect from design-only to turnkey systems, installation and commissioning, all backed by a full range of support services.

Your Role is:

Applications are invited for a Senior Design Draughtsperson to join the Electrical Machines Engineering Department, based at Rugby. The overall purpose of the role will be to produce drawings and bills of material on a wide range of individual projects for customised or specially engineered rotating electrical machines.

Main Tasks Include:

  • Production of drawings and bills of materials on a wide range of individual projects for customised or specially engineered large rotating electrical machines.

  • Responsible for ensuring that drawing office instructions for individual allocated projects is produced in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Liaison with both manufacturing and suppliers, as required, to ensure the optimal specification of component parts.



  • Personal Attributes

    You should be qualified to at least ONC level or equivalent, with previous experience in the use of rotating machinery equipment such as gearboxes, couplings, lubrication systems, machinery enclosures and baseplates. In addition knowledge of using Medusa and/or Pro-Engineer CAD and Triton MRP systems would be a distinct advantage. You will be a team player, with strong communication skills.


    You will need to have a flexible, team-working approach and be capable of liasing effectively with both manufacturers and suppliers.
