SENIOR ENGINEERS - TRANSIT
POWER ELECTRONICS
STAFFORDSHIRE


First class career opportunities now exist for Senior Engineers to join this well-established and successful company which designs and manufactures Power and Magnetic product solutions for the Defence and Transit markets world-wide.

Senior Engineers are now required for their Transit Power Division. Reporting to the Engineering Manager successful candidates will carry out a vital role as part of a dedicated technical team challenged with the task of delivering robust and cost effective signature management system solutions. You will be responsible for a range of engineering activity from bid to delivery. Working closely with other team members and sub-contractors you will plan develop and deliver sub-system solutions that successfully meet overall project objectives.

Educated to degree level with post-graduate experience in an electrical engineering environment, you will have hands on experience of substation design and integration covering ac and dc switchboards, power transformers, battery chargers, lv panels / switchboards, including:
oSpecification and rating of equipment for procurement and manufacture.
oTechnical liaison with equipment suppliers and internal manufacturing.
oIntegration of the substation equipment into a functioning substation, e.g equipment interconnections. Reviewing supplier drawings and documentation against requirements.
oProduction of substation test specifications & manuals.
oKnowledge of substation integration in a dc traction environment is highly desirable.
oHands on experience of power rectifier design is desirable.

Successful candidates will also have the ability to apply best practice in a cost competitive environment. Some travel may be required e.g. supplier visits, vendor assessments. Overtime may also be necessary in order to achieve deadlines.

It is part of a group of businesses specialising in the design, manufacture and support of electronic and electromechanical products and sub systems for the international defence, transit and aerospace markets.
