A fantastic opportunity to take a Lead discipline role as Principle Electrical ICA Engineer for a leading global provider of consulting, engineering, construction and management services in water, natural resources, and infrastructure sectors. Our clients have planned, designed, built and managed many of the world's largest and most technologically advanced projects and programmes, and have been recognized with top industry rankings and awards.

The Solihull office works for a number of major clients in the water industry and additionally supports a number of its other offices in the UK.

Electrical & ICA Engineers provide technical expertise in the area of Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (EICA). The work will include the EICA input through feasibility, design, construction and commissioning of projects.

In the Lead discipline role you will work with experienced multi-disciplinary teams responsible for the optioneering, solution development and detail design of schemes including:

•Wastewater Treatment Works to upgrade the quality of water released into rivers and the sea.
•Wastewater Treatment Works to improve upgrade and enlarge supply.
•Wastewater networks projects including pumping stations.
•Schemes to help safeguard water supplies including service reservoirs and network projects.

Key tasks will include:

•Undertake site inspections, carry out feasibility reviews and work up proposals for the schemes.
•Produce the technical EICA specifications and deliverables of the schemes in accordance with current legislation and standards for HV, LV and ICA scheme requirements.
•Liaise with subcontractors and deal with technical queries.
•Undertake factory acceptance testing of MCCs: PLC software and hardware; SCADA: switchgear: generators
•Testing and commissioning on site.


You will have an Electrical Engineering degree (or equivalent) and ideally be a member of a relevant engineering institution. You will have experience of working on the Electrical & ICA elements of water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations and network, ideally at all stages of project development. You will have experience of working on the design development and detailed design phases of projects.
