First class career opportunities now exist for Principal Engineers to join this well-established and successful company which designs and manufactures Power and Magnetic product solutions for the Defence and Transit markets world-wide.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Principal Engineers will carry out a vital role as part of a dedicated project team, challenged with the task of delivering robust and cost effective traction power systems and installations. You will be responsible for a wide range of engineering activities covering all stages of a project from bid to delivery. The role will challenge your experience of designing optimum solutions in a cost competitive environment.

Working closely with other team members and sub-contractors, you will plan and carry out your activities to develop technical solutions, which successfully meet with the overall objectives of your project.

Successful candidates will hold a relevant degree level with experience in a dc traction electrical engineering environment. A motivated self starter, capable of leading small engineering teams, you will also require hands-on experience of rectifier design and development, and integration of transit power systems is highly desirable. Knowledge of ac/dc switchgear and LV distribution panels is essential. A demonstrable understanding of engineering best practice in a cost competitive environment is also necessary. You will have a good working knowledge of railway, safety and environmental standard and legislation. PC and keyboard literacy is also required.

You would be joining the operating division of a world-leading aerospace and defence electronics company providing specialist products across the globe. It is part of a group of businesses specialising in the design, manufacture and support of electronic and electromechanical products and sub systems for the international defence, transit and aerospace markets.
