EC&I Lead Engineer - West Midlands – to £36k
Our client is renowned globally as the market leader in materials handling allied to the hazardous materials sector, providing bespoke solutions from concept design through to manufacture and simulated operation prior to delivery, installation and commissioning within customers' facilities worldwide. As a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Lead Engineer to concentrate on all aspects of Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation projects as part of a successful and committed team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of the Electrical, Control and Instrumentation work packages of high integrity and complex control systems to Customer and Industry Specifications, to within budget and programme constraints. The candidate must have a broad knowledge of the design of complex systems in machine control applications and plant wide automation where specific experience in the Nuclear Industry would be an advantage.
You will be capable of producing technical & functional specifications and developing control systems from concept design through to final design, installation and commissioning, and will demonstrate strong interpersonal and communications skills with excellent analytical, design and problem solving skills and be committed to maintaining high quality standards. Additionally you must have a sound knowledge of and be experienced in the application of the latest relevant IEC standards and statuary legislation.
You will be tasked with producing CE&I Design from concept designs and specification to meet project and customer requirements, overseeing the designs produced by CE&I engineers assigned to your work package and providing technical support to their design activities namely in the production of Control Panel designs, Diagrams for typically PLC & HMI hardware, Motor Starters & Drives, Safety Circuits, Instrumentation and Power Distribution applications and also Cabling designs.
You will also specify hardware and the production of parts lists whilst ensuring that company policy and procedures are being applied across the projects, and will manage the interface between CE&I and the Mechanical function, communicating at all levels with both internal and external customers to meet their expectations while meeting the project budget and programme constraints.
This is an exceptional opportunity to join an established and successful team, and to be considered for the post, in addition to the above you will demonstrate proficiency in the use of the MS Office suite, CAD (AutoCad 2004 and Promis-E) and knowledge of PLC, HMI & SCADA programming experience.
