Instrumentation Technician required to join Aero and mechanical test department in Rugby.

Our client is a world leader in integrated power plant, power production services and air quality control systems.

They are the world leader in Steam Turbine Retrofits with solutions which have already improved the efficiency and operation of over 600 turbine cylinders from both the company and other manufacturers’ fleets in over 30 countries during the last 20 years.

The company works with all energy forms (coal, gas, nuclear, fuel-oil, hydropower, wind) and is a leader in the manufacture of environmentally friendly products and systems to the power business and industrial markets for environmental protection (reduction of CO2 emissions, reduction of nitrogen oxide emissions).

The Role

  • They are looking to recruit instrumentation engineers to provide instrumentation application services for both in-house test facilities and external contract work.


  • The successful candidates will be required to carry out instrumentation of test components/engines and assist with tests both at Rugby and other sites, often overseas.

  • Regular communication and occasional visits would be expected with other technical experts both outside of the business and within its global engineering centres, especially in Europe.

    Main Requirements

  • Ideally, candidates should be qualified to HNC level in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering


  • You should be self-motivated, self-reliant, willing to travel and quick to assimilate new skills


  • Knowledge and experience of the following is preferred but not essential:

  • High temperature techniques


  • Rotating instrumentation


  • Rakes and traversing probes


  • Strain gauging


  • Ability to work to engineering drawings and documents


  • Mechanical assembly of precision components


  • Good communication, presentation and integration skills form a key part of the recruitment process.
