JOB PROFILE The Unit provides a wide range of technical, managerial and analytical services to our customers throughout the world and also specialist support to other part of the Group. Projects within the division are currently operating include Aweer Power Station, Khartoum North Power Station, various schemes for Severn Trent Water, Basrah Aerodrome Lighting, San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge and a Highways Agency framework relating to motorway communications .
We are currently looking for a Electrical Engineer to work closely on the delivery of Mott MacDonald’s current portfolio of work with Clients that will be various external and internal across transportation, energy, water and process industry.
JOB DESCRIPTION The Electrical Engineer will become part of the Asset Integrity Team in Birmingham, to assist with the technical aspects of, and eventually manage, electrical, mechanical, and energy projects.
Responsibilities of the role will include: • Will in the future assist in developing business in the client sectors, and take an active part in the bidding process for future contracts and assist with technical advice/bidding assistance. • Ability to manage all aspects of technical projects as described above. • After a suitable period of training in Mott MacDonald company specific procedures, to be able to manage the financial and quality system aspects of the projects. • To eventually project manage ITB projects as required. • Assist with the delivery of technical work within the above sectors. • Liaise with other staff in the Birmingham office and other divisional offices as required. • Diversify current skills to other market sectors if required. • Progress to the role of Project Manager, after a suitable period, in the role of Senior Electrical Engineer
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION The candidate will be looking to develop their career and their skill set in a varied and challenging role. This position will demand that the successful candidate has strong technical competencies as well as a personal comfort with client liaison and business development.
The successful candidate should have the following attributes: • Degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline and membership of an appropriate professional institution • Chartered status in an appropriate professional institution will benefit any applicant • Knowledge and experience in thermal power station plant. • Knowledge and experience in transmission & distribution plant/substations • Experience in testing of electrical plant • Practical knowledge of project management • Auditing and report writing skills • Experience in manufacturing and installation of electrical plant • Must be fully familiar with standard office tools.
