Automation Engineers needed within the Power Conversion Industry

Their customers operate in three main markets: Marine, Energy and Industry as well as in many specialized areas.
They cover every aspect from design-only to turnkey systems, installation and commissioning, all backed by a full range of support services.
Your Role is:
Based in Rugby, we now have opportunities for Automation Engineers to provide engineering expertise in the support of all phases of work associated with Automation Vessel Control, Process Control and Dynamic Positioning control.engineering specifications.
Main Tasks Include:
Capture/review customer requirements (this may include overseas & offshore travel) Produce Functional Design Specification (FDS) and review with customer Produce hardware design and specification of equipment from standard components Produce Purchase Technical Specifications (PTS) Review/check supplier' documentation Liase with suppliers on technical aspects Produce electrical wiring diagram, cable diagrams and I/O schedules Liaise with Classification Societies on technical aspects/classification rules Design Human Machine Interface (HMI) mimics from customer documentation e.g. piping & instrumentation diagrams Configure system architecture to meet customer requirements Configure projects software from standard blocks and programme PLCs with specific applications to meet project requirements Produce Factory Acceptance Tests, installation and commissioning specifications Project Quality control and liaise with internal auditors and Lloyds during quality audits Liaise with customer and classification societies on Factory Acceptance Tests Provide site support during build, commissioning, sea trials and customer acceptance phases Provide customer support and training as required Provide service support
Personal Attributes
You will hopefully be degree qualified with desirable experience or knowledge in: Electrical engineering (Power Generation/Management and Power Distribution) Control systems (open loops, closed loop/PID controllers) Automation systems hardware/software, HMI, Networks (Ethernet/Modbus/Profibus/ControlNet) PLC programming (Ladder diagram, functional block, structured text, Isagraf) Basic knowledge of Marine Engineering
You will be an enthusiastic team player, with good communication skills. In addition, you should be willing to travel throughout the UK or overseas, meeting customers and suppliers, or attending testing and sea trails when necessary. A current UK driving licence is essential.
