Application Engineer - Oil, Gas & Power Generation needed within the Power Conversion Industry based in Rugby and Kidsgrove

Your Role is:
An Application Engineer position has arisen to successfully promote the Company’s products and capabilities to all external prospects, with the explicit aim of converting prospects to customers and increasing the Company’s market share.
Main duties and responsibilities
Primary
To assist in the tender preparation and submission by; review of customers specification, design of system with appropriate selection of Company products to meet customers requirement, preparation of RFQs for sub-suppliers and review of their submission, preparation of comments and deviation to customers specification. Review/answer customers clarifications and questions. Support/attend bid clarification meeting, To liaise with appropriate in-house departments in the preparation of the tender. To participate in a study of the market and monitor buying activity in order to identify trends through competitors, application suitability or other factors which might affect orders and sales, bringing any such trends to the attention of appropriate sales management. To assist in the specification and definition of new products or variants of existing products to meet emerging needs, and to actively seek and report to appropriate management any opportunities for additional business or new applications for any other company product.
Secondary To assist in sales activity (site visits, telephone calls, quotation follow ups, exhibition support, etc) To assist in the creation & maintenance of prospect and customer records, so as to follow efficient & productive targeting of sales effort. To assist in the generation of sales literature (e.g. brochures, data sheets, application guides, mailing pieces, etc)
Personal Attributes
The ideal candidate will possess a good standard of education to a minimum of HND/HNC level. You will preferably already be involved with the Engineering and Design of Drives and Systems. Good functional knowledge of Variable Speed Drives and Systems Integration, Electrical machines and specifically the integration into a Variable Speed Drive System is desirable. Excellent communications skills are required to liaise at all levels, both with customers and within the Company. You will also demonstrate good IT skills, hold a full UK driving license and be able to travel internationally without restrictions.
