The Materials and Chemistry division is responsible for the development and world-wide deployment of materials technology for all forms of power generation equipment, including support to manufacturing and service.
The Ferrous Alloy Development Group is currently seeking an energetic and creative individual to lead the development of welding technology for power generation equipment to cement the position as a global leader in clean power generation.

Job description
The Main responsibilities will be:




  • Development of new joining and hardfacing processes for manufacture and refurbishment of power generation equipment.
  • Adaptation of existing joining and repair processes to new materials required for future power generation equipment.
  • Supporting the application of these processes in own factories, in sub-contractor factories and at power station sites.


Person Specification
Essential Requirements:



  • Good education to degree level in metallurgy/materials engineering or welding science/ engineering
  • Proven track record in research and practical application of joining processes
  • Experience of the power generation industry
