What is the Role?
As a Senior Engineer you will be leading a team of engineers in the Birmingham office, although similar positions are available all over the UK. You will be working on many different types of building structures, including residential, commercial houses, flats and hotels. You will be designing, and ensuring that the group are completing projects within time and budget. Your team will be dealing with different type of materials, including steel, concrete, timber and masonry and therefore much experience using these materials is needed, due to the fact that you will need to be able to check on more junior staffs calculations.
The company are looking to expand quickly due to successfully winning work and having a full diary for the year. Due to this, this consultancy is in need of an individual who can enter the company and run the team immediately; therefore you will need to have a many years experience in the designing of buildings, as well as the ability to run, lead and develop a team.

Who are the likely candidates?
A likely candidate will have a strong academic background and much experience within a UK consultancy. You will need to have a very good understanding of British codes and procedures as well as the ability to communicate with others at a technical level, as you will be leading an expanding team.
You should have proven ability in the technical design of building structures, and those who can show workable progress towards reaching chartered status will be favoured.
You will also be required to run, lead and control an expanding team, ensuring that all projects are completed within time and budget, and therefore a likely candidate will be able to show previous experience in doing this.
