What is the Role?
In this role, you will undertake the design of bridges for major infrastructure projects in the UK and overseas, as well as managing graduate engineer and technician staff and taking direct responsibility for delivery. It is a varied and exciting role, which will involve the detailed design of large post-tensioned concrete bridges. You will also ensure all work is completed within agreed budgets and timescales.
Responsibilities include;
· Responsibility of delivering up to 10 projects concurrently to time and to budget
· Daily management of projects reporting to Project Manager
· Responsible for managing a small team of up to 5 individuals
· Liaison with other members of project teams both internal and external
· Detailed Design and Design Management from inception to completion
· Supervising and managing assistant engineers and technicians
· Liaise with internal and external sub contractors
· Involvement with cost management, tenders, invoicing of projects
· Circa 75% of time will be spent on Design and will include planning and undertaking survey works on site.

What Skills do I need?
· You will be a Chartered Engineer in ICE, IStructE, or equivalent
· Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
· Experience in the production of detailed designs for large post-tensioned bridges to British Standards and / or AASHTO
· Good communication skills to write technical reports
· Ability to build good working relationships
