What is the Role?
Our client is seeking an experienced Highways Design Engineer to join an expanding and ambitious highways team, due to them winning exciting projects in the Midlands area. This is a great opportunity for you to be involved in a large number of projects ranging from budgets of £12 million up to much larger projects with budgets over a billion pounds.
The successful candidate will be working in a team of designers to produce designs for numerous highways projects and will report directly to the Senior Engineer. You will be involved in every stage of the design process from the early plans to final submission and have a hands on role in producing the designs

Who are the likely candidates?
You client is looking for a candidate that has a degree in Civil Engineering, and is either Chartered or looking to become chartered. It is essential that you have had previous experience working on highways projects that meet DMRB standards, and can produce designs using MX and AutoCAD software packages. It is beneficial to have had Highways Agency experience however this is not essential.
What Skills do I need?
You will need to be an excellent verbal and written communicator, as you will need to be able to express your designs to other team members and stakeholders. The successful candidate must have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment, whilst having both time management and organisational skills to allow you to complete projects to deadlines accurately.
An enthusiasm for the role is essential as there is the potential to further develop your role as our client actively encourages in-house training and progression.
