This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a Building Services professional to join a large International consultancy as their Head of Building Services in Birmingham. This is a pivotal management role within their design team. It will involve managing the Building Services department and being responsible for the delivery of projects within the office. Reporting to the Head of Business, this role will involve making an active contribution to the performance and development of the business as a whole in conjunction with other senior managers. Responsibilities will be to plan and drive the growth of the Building Services business in the Birmingham office, motivate and develop the Building Services team to consistently deliver excellent performance, provide technical inspiration and design leadership, establish and develop strong client relationships and act as Project Director on engineering projects.
Honours Degree or equivalent qualified in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
Chartered Engineer - IET, IMechE, CIBSE or equivalent.
Knowledge of UK regulations, UK standards and CIBSE guidelines is essential.
Must have worked in the design and delivery of Commercial, Public, Education, Healthcare, Sports & Leisure facilities for medium to large scale projects.
Commercially focused.
Confident of dealing with clients, building strong working relationships.
A confident and articulate communicator, with good verbal and presentation skills.
Project management history, ensuring work is delivered on time and to budget.
Knowledge of managing a technical team at a senior level within an engineering design consultancy practice.
