Our client is a specialist manufacturer of outdoor lighting and street furniture celebrating its 21st year in business. Due to continued success and growth they now require an additional engineer to join their manufacturing team based in South Leamington at their purpose built premises. The Standard Products Division require all round electro/mechanical production/process engineer who will assist the sales division in providing technical advice and information on standard products to colleagues and customers
The role will cover Project Management, Product Management & Product Development
PROJECT MANAGEMENT ASPECTS OF ROLE Technical Vetting and Processing of orders using Microsoft Axapta Management of technical aspects relating to modifications of products on projects including liaison with suppliers of product and customers Attending site and project meetings from a technical advisory position to inspect and advise on installation and failure of electrical equipment Costings for new or modified lighting/street furniture Preparation of General Arrangements drawings for projects
PRODUCT MANAGEMENT ASPECTS OF ROLE To produce Bills/Parts lists for new or modified products To plan the Route Cards for assembly of products Creation on all new “items” on Microsoft Axapta with planning data To monitor all item records Inspection of Production Materials Cycle Counting of Standard Manufactured Products and assist in stock maintenance levels
PRODUCTS DEVELOPMENT ASPECTS OF ROLE To assist and identify opportunities for value & cost engineering To assist in new product design and development, prototyping & costing exercises To produce method statements/ installation instructions of standard products To prepare fabrication/working drawings for components for product approval To assist in the maintenance of standard product price list, web offer & stock offer in FQ, Microsoft Axapta & Sharepoint To assist in preparation of reports on stock offer & web turnover
PERSON SPECIFICS Ideally you will have a Degree/HND in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering You will need to be highly computer literate, as you will be using Microsoft Office, Access & Project on a daily basis as well as in house products Microsoft Dynamics Axapta You should have experience in reading and the creation of Autocad Drawings preferably with an experience of 3-D modelling systems Ideally you will have experienced electrical assembly or fabrication of smaller products Have experienced a high level of technical issues, legal, environmental that are relevant to the industry. You should be confident & articulate and able to represent the company at project/site meetings throughout the UK. Above all the right candidate will be someone who is willing to learn as the product range may well take at least a year to learn and settle in to the role.
