1. JOB PURPOSE
Using architects and engineers drawings, prepare detailed drawings for architect/clients approval. Prepare drawings/ schedules for manufacture and installation.
3. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (e.g. what objectives are set, what is this role judged on?) 1. Check accepted quotations to ensure that the product quoted is within design criteria. If not, bring to attention of estimator and resolve. Identify chargeable contract variations. 2. Prepare drawings using CAD and pass to architect, builder or sub-contractor, attending meetings for further discussions, recommending changes where necessary, completing contract variation form and passing to QS or Estimator for pricing. 3. Continually monitor costs and liaise with estimators regarding extra items/vo’s 4. Visit sites to check details and take measurements where necessary. 5. Prepare drawings for external suppliers (i.e. automatic doors, pressed metal, support steel/bracketry, etc.) 6. Continually monitor scope of work and compare to quote. 7. Order screws, silicone, etc. and ensure these ancillary items, together with complete sets of drawings for sub-contract fixers, are prepared and orderd. 8. Deal with technical queries from factory and fixers on site, visiting if necessary to resolve. 9. Organise remakes of damaged materials, assessing fault and allocating charges as necessary. 10. Continually prioritise workload to take account of long lead times for delivery, contractual programmes in conjunction with project managers.
