What is the Role?
Due to business expansion we have an outstanding opportunity for an Engineer within the Bridges and Structures to join the team. As a Bridge and Structures Engineer you will undertake work of a technical nature, delivering designs in accordance with clients and design standards. You will also assist in the development of innovative ways of providing design services, while supervising the work of other less experienced staff.
Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to;
· Planning, monitoring and reporting of project resources and finances. · Preparation of engineering solutions and the presentation of engineering options · Inspection, surveying and assessment of under line and over line bridges · Preparation and checking of feasibility studies, inspection and assessment reports and other written documents. · Preparation and checking of assessment, calculations, design calculations and structural analysis. · Production and checking of design concepts, design details, drawings specifications and other technical documents. · Delivery of work to programme, budget and specification
What Skills do I need?
Requirements
· Qualified or working towards one of the following: BEng, Meng, CEng MICE or MIStructE or equivalent · PTS or other track safety qualifications desirable · Demonstrable experience in the design and assessment of bridges, plus a good knowledge of civil engineering practice · Previous experience in the rail industry and knowledge of railways standards is desirable · Strong MS Office and structural analysis software skills and familiar with AutoCAD
