Blade Manufacture Engineer

The company designs, manufactures and supplies state-of-the-art products and systems to the power generation - for gas, coal, and hydro power plants - and industrial markets
Your Role:
To provide interface between Blades Critical Technology and manufacturing units by analysis of different manufacturing methods and development of improved blade manufacturing processes.
Main Tasks Include:
Development of improved blade manufacturing processes. Analysis of different manufacturing methods. Interfacing with manufacturing units and other Critical Technologies Optimisation of execution processes, including CAD/CAM. Factory and supplier qualification. Handling of NCRs and MCRs. Advising factories on new equipment and new processes. Arranging machining trials, material substitutions, etc.
Required Skills:
Hopefully you will hold a degree or equivalent vocational qualifications in a relevant subject.
The ideal Candidate will hopefully have:
Knowledge of processes and quality requirements of component manufacture; principally turbomachinary blades. Knowledge of design tools; particularly for turbine and/or compressor blades. Knowledge of materials used for turbomachinery components; and their method of manufacture. Familiar with general principles of steam and gas turbine design. Good mathematical; problem solving and software skills. General knowledge of turbomachinery. General computer skills. Some CAD / CAM experience. You will also hopefully have Good communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately with engineering design, logistics, machine shops, etc. You will hopefully have the ability to work in a team and have a willingness to travel. A Working knowledge of German language would be an advantage however this is not essential

Hours of Work
37 hours per week.(flexi-time)
Holiday Entitlement
25 days per year basic entitlement. Floating bank holidays - agreed annually. Holiday pro-rata during 1st year of employment.
