What is the Role?
Principal Engineer required within the Bridges and Railway Civils department to work for one of the “Top 20 best big companies to work for” in the Sunday Times list. You will be required to continue the development of the business in the Midlands region as well as focusing on hands on design work. The role will provide a range of challenging, dynamic and high profile projects.
You will join a busy and successful team. The initial focus of the role will be business development, and then hands on design work. The post holder will be required to build the team and attack new business streams.
Other Responsibilities will include:
Ensuring technical excellence is achieved on projects
Leading the Bridges and Railways design team in the detail design of projects
Attending meetings to establish and develop client briefs
Produce tender documentation and advise clients on the appointment of sub-contractors
Implementation of clients strategy to ensure that the quality is prevalent
Delivering the projects on time and to budget
Developing further business

What skills do I need?
·Many years UK experience in the design of bridges
·Ability to work well independently
·Ability to create and develop an effective bridge design team
·Strong communication ability
·Chartered Engineer (not essential)
Who are the likely candidates?
Due to the complexity of this position, a likely candidate will need to have the technical ability to work on designs, as well as the managerial ability and the ability to develop the bridge team.
