Design Manager needed to bolster a successful Rail Team -
My client is one of the largest rail service providers in the Midlands area and in fact nationally. They have a reputation for quality and are recognised as a market leader. They are on a recruitment drive at the moment to strengthen their pre contract team that up until recently has been based out of the midlands. To sustain their presence within the region they are looking to build a pre contract team to be based out of their Birmingham office.

- Signalling works
- Embankment Stabilisation
- Structures over rail
- Platform alterations - refurbishments
- New station works
As you can tell from the schemes they are involved in, they cover most aspects of the rail industry. The role is specific to rail however they are interested in seeing candidates with a strong design background, this may be have been attained within a civil engineering contractor, a rail contractor or a consultancy.
The Role -
- Full accountability for design team
- Responsible for the assessment and evaluation of high value Design schemes
- Liaise closely with all relevant parties including Estimating, Commercial, Buying and the client
- Great communication and negotiating skills required
- Mediation is key
