FOUR DIFFERENT WORK STREAMS ROLLED INTO TWO PROJECTS FOR BT. PROJECTS VARY REGARDING SCOPE OF WORKS AND CLIENT PERSONNEL THE RESPONSIBILITIES FOR EACH OF THE PROJECTS ARE SIMILAR. ALL OF THE WORK IS CARRIED IS IN EXISTING BT EXCHANGES TO PROVIDE SERVICED AREAS FOR BT OR THIRD PARTY OPERATORS. SUBCONTRACT TRADES EXTEND TO BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 1.DEMOLITIONS AND ALTERATIONS. 2.BUILDING WORKS INC PARTITIONING, CEILINGS, CARPENTRY & JOINERY, PLASTERING/SCREEDING, RAISED ACCESS FLOORS, PAINTING AND DECORATING, FLOOR FINISHES. 3.ASBESTOS REMOVAL. 4.AC ELECTRICAL WORKS. 5.RUNWAY AND IRONWORKS. 6.BT CORPORATE SUPPLIER WORKS SUCH AS AIR CONDITIONING AND DC POWER WORKS. ANY ONE SITE CAN VARY IN VALUE FROM £1,000 TO £1,000,000 AND CAN TAKE ANYTHING FROM 2 DAYS TO 4-5 MONTHS. THE CONTRACT IS ON A NATIONAL BASIS COVERING ALL AREAS OF MAINLAND UK. COMMERCIALLY THE WORKS ARE VALUED USING A SCHEDULE OF RATES WITH ADDITIONAL ITEMS FOR NON SCHEDULE OF RATES WORKS. THIS IS ADJUSTED REGIONALLY DEPENDANT ON THE LOCATION OF THE EXCHANGE. DEPENDANT ON THE SIZE OF ANY ONE SITE INTERIM VALUATIONS MAY BE APPLICABLE. THE PROJECT IS WIDE AND VARIED IN TERMS OF SCOPE, SIZE AND GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION. THERE IS A LARGE ELEMENT OF TENDERING REQUIRED TO DEAL WITH THE HIGH VOLUME OF SITES BUILT. THIS WILL BE THE MAJORITY OF ANY SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE’S ROLE. OUTSIDE OF TENDERING THERE WILL BE A REQUIREMENT FOR MONITORING VARIATIONS, PROCESSING INTERIM AND FINAL ACCOUNTS WHERE NECESSARY AND DEALING WITH SUBCONTRACTORS AS REQUESTED. THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WOULD BE REPORTING DIRECTLY TO THE SENIOR QS WHO HAS RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DAY TO DAY RUNNING OF THE CONTRACT. IN LINE WITH THE ABOVE THE CANDIDATE WILL NEED TO HAVE A "FLEXIBLE" APPROACH TO THEIR WORKING WEEK AS WELL AS SOUND TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS. THERE WILL BE EXTENSIVE USE OF IT IN PREPARING WORKBOOKS AND A HIGH LEVEL OF INPUT ONTO OUR EXISTING DATABASE. BASED AT HEAD OFFICE BUT SOME SITE VISITS WOULD BE NECESSARY
