My client is a multi-disciplinary organisation providing a comprehensive construction, and property consultancy service throughout the United Kingdom.

They require an enthusiastic Building Surveyor capable of working under their own initiative and also as part of a team. You need to demonstrate a range of experience, with particular focus on building surveys and pathology. You will have a good understanding of differing building types in respect of structural form, size and use. You’ll be particularly conversant in commercial and education properties.

The successful candidate will be part of a team of Building Surveyors undertaking a rolling programme of surveys within the Midlands region under an existing established asset management strategy. Whilst the final reporting format will be provided on an electronic basis, the survey exercise itself will be undertaken using a traditional building surveying approach. A basic working knowledge of Auto Cad would be advantageous but not essential. Full training will be provided in support of this specific role.

Furthermore, financial and technical support will be provided to any such candidate wishing to undertake their APC. Whilst the initial brief for this role is specific, it is intended that the candidate will also obtain general building surveying experience from within an established, highly experienced Building Surveying Department, in support of this goal. Promotion prospects are potentially available to any candidate excelling at this role, as a potential leader of the Team/Client Contact for the programme.

The role consists of undertaking Building Condition Surveys, including assessment of existing condition and defects diagnosis; checking existing plans and making minor hand amendments; inputting of reports via electronic format; providing general building surveying support to existing team of Chartered Building Surveyors in all aspects of building surveying including contract administration, specification writing, budget costing, production of plans and similar information, tendering procedures, on site supervision, etc. Also, providing general building surveying support to existing team of Chartered Building Surveyors in all aspects of undertaking professional work i.e. dilapidations, party wall awards, schedules of condition, acquisition surveys, etc.

Confidentiality is assured.
