Due to our continued success we are now keen to recruit a Senior Planner to work within the Planning department of our Birmingham office. This is a Senior position working with a well established professional team on a variety of projects (both in size and type), most of which are for blue chip clients. A significant proportion of our work is negotiated with repeat business clients who appreciate our commitment to completion on time. Requirements To perform successfully in the role the successful candidate would need to demonstrate: •Good team work and communication skills to clearly explain their plans and programmes. •Confidence to work with Client and Site Teams •Good IT skills including use of Powerproject. •Ability to present well in interview, tender settlement and other forums Responsibilities •Translating various levels of information into construction programmes and methods, creating contract, short-term and temporary works programmes. •Preparing Preliminaries at Tender Stage. •Working from ‘Tender' into ‘Construction' throughout the whole project process. •Monitoring, forecasting, updating and distributing revised programmes to project team including client and sub-contractors. •Co-ordinating and managing information flow into and out of the project, including design and technical information. •Forecasting and reporting variations from the agreed construction programme, both for internal and external purposes.
The Individual
Ideally the successful candidate would: •Have a Construction related HNC/Degree or equivalent practical experience. •Have experience in a Senior Planning role for some time. •Hold an appropriate CSCS Card. •Have had some experience of working on site. •Be an effective communicator, level headed and a good team player. •Be computer literate with previous experience of planning a high-level portfolio of projects. •Have an organised and systematic approach and be able to liaise effectively with site operational teams.
