Job Description
An opportunity for a Transportation Operational Management Consultant, within our Transport Solutions business. Highways and Transportation Operational Management is an integral part of our business which, within and outside of Transport Solutions, embraces all aspects of Operational Consultancy within the transport sector. Reporting to a Managing Consultant you will provide support within a team of Consultants in delivering quality consultancy and operational solutions. You are expected to assist and guide junior members of the team. You will be responsible for the delivery of the projects allocated to you and managing the production of deliverables, programmes and budgets.
Requirements
Qualifications: - Relevant degree and / or substantial relevant experience in operational management in the transportation field
- Member of relevant professional institution(s) relating to the transportation engineering / highway industry
Experience: - Sufficient and appropriate experience working within the field of Highways and Transportation operations, preferably with experience of related fields, such as Contingency Planning, Incident Management and training
- Knowledge and experience of security reviews and advice would be ideal
- Knowledge and experience of business continuity would be ideal
- Up to date knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and guidance, including the Traffic Management Act and the Civil Contingencies Act 2004
- High level of personal initiative, vision and motivation
- Good presenting skills and communicator
- Ability to lead and influence meetings with the client, within the client organisation or with third parties up to board level
Responsibilities
- Effective application of risk experience, knowledge and tools, for example, risk assessment and mitigation identification, training delivery in all aspects of risk management and response
- Manage client expectations effectively and build excellent client relationships
- Project / programme delivery
- Delivering effective and dynamic presentations
- Combining analytical with intuitive and creative thinking to meet client needs
- Ensuring project deadlines and targets are achieved
- Prepare, monitor and manage project plans to deliver agreed client outputs including in-house project administration
- Operating within corporate quality standards
Ensuring: - Compliance with Quality, Safety and Environmental procedures to Atkins Business Management Systems
- Work is undertaken to programme and budget
- Health & Safety obligations are met
